COVID-19 Update

Monday, March 23, 2020

As your professional counseling providers, we are aware of the widespread concern within our community concerning the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  You can be assured that physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of our clients is paramount.

Governor Edwards has issued a statewide Stay-At-Home order that goes into effect at 5 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2020, in an effort to thwart the anticipated spike in COVID-19 cases in our state.  As mental health professionals, we are considered “essential workers,” but in considering what is in the best interest of our clients, we have made the decision that beginning Tuesday, March 24th, we will exclusively offer video and phone counseling to both our existing clients in the midst of therapy as well as new clients in need our services in these trying times.

We highly encourage you to consider scheduling a secure video appointment with us. Research shows these online appointments can be just as effective as in-person meetings and most importantly, they allow us to continue your care without interruption.  Let us know if you are interested in a TeleHealth appointment and we will make the necessary arrangements.

In the days ahead, let’s not neglect focusing on the truth and promises of scriptures. We have God’s word he will never to leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:6). He is our refuge and strength, a very persistent help in times of trouble (Psalm 46).  What encouraging words in the midst of such challenging times.  Feel free to reach out to us with have any questions you may have via email us at doug@dwacounseling.com or dillon@dwacounseling.comYou can also give us a call at (225) 810-3922.  We are here for you!!
