COVID-19 Support Groups

The Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19 pandemic has radically impacted the lives of billions these past few months. Whether it has taken a physical, financial, mental, emotional toll, or all the above, we long to return to “a normal life.” We crave routine and for things to return to the way they were before the virus struck and our world turned upside down. A recent poll done by the Kaiser Family Foundation KFF reports that nearly half (45%) of adults in the United States reported that their mental health has been negatively impacted due to worry and stress over the virus. People are beginning to reach out to therapists, counselors, and pastors for help to overcome the onslaught of emotions and stressors to arrive at a place of hope and healing.

Throughout time, we have always adapted and molded to survive and overcome worldwide pandemics, epidemics, and other world changing events. Something that is certain is it is nearly impossible to successfully overcome a pandemic like COVID-19 alone. Right now, we as a nation and world are going through a traumatic event that is going to change and completely redefine what our “normal” is. The quicker we begin to take action to process our anxiety, worries, and stressors, the better equipped we are to move forward in an effort to redefine what normal is.
